MY Recent Visit to Puri

 I spent this summer exploring the temples of Orissa, particularly Puri, and it was a really fascinating experience for me. The residents of that city are incredibly kind and courteous to guests. I thoroughly enjoyed my three days there. 

Introduction

Although it's probable that not many people are aware of Puri, but  it is one of the most important sites in Hindu culture. The home of Lord Jagannath is Puri.

The real visitors of here are from states like Bihar, West Bengal,Delhi,UP and so on.

Some famous Places of Puri are Chandrabhaga beach, Jagannath temple, Chillika Lake, Konark Sun temple.

 The tour begins

We reached Puri by evening and by then we were hungry . So firstly we got into our room and immediately freshened up. After that, we went out and had dinner in a restaurant very close to the beach. Later that evening  we went to the sea beach and enjoyed the cool sea breeze.

Day2 got underway early,we awoke early in the morning, we requested the hotel management for a quick tour, asking him to arrange a taxi for us and they proposed that we go to the Sand Museum, then the Konark temple, and finally the Zoo.

So the ist place we visited was sand museum , it was roughly 12 km from the hotel.The place was little bit crowded but we managed to get our tickets quickly. There were statues of gods, Disney characters and various monument types. We took photos and they also had a small restaurant where we had our breakfast.

Next we went for Konark temple  I'm not sure if you've visited ,but I don't believe many buildings have as much elegance and clean design as this one. The temple's wheels, or chakras, retain their uniqueness  and clarity of design.

The Sanskrit terms Kon, which means corner, and Arka, which refers to the temple's dedication to the sun god, were combined to create the name Konarak.
